Incident Response Team Activation – May 2025

The Kentucky Coroner’s Association Incident Response Team responded on May 17, 2025, to Laurel County to assist the Laurel County Coroner’s Office in the recovery of decedents from the tornado that struck that county.
The Response Team assisted in the recovery of 17 decedents and assisted in transporting them to the Sate Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort.
Coroner’s Office’s from Rowan, Lincoln, Boyle, Knott, Fayette, Madison, Taylor, Russell, Cumberland and Shelby Counties responded.
The Incident Response Team responded on May 18, 2025, to the State Medical Examiner’s Office in Frankfort to assist the Medical Examiner’s.
Coroner’s Office’s from Hardin, Henry, Oldham, Owen, Garrard and Daviess Counties assisted.
